Cllr Oisín O'Connor

Green Party Councillor for Glencullen-Sandyford, including Ballinteer, Stepaside, Kilternan, Leopardstown, Ballyogan & Glenamuck

A 9 storey Apart-hotel with 124 “suites” on Ballymoss Road in Sandyford Business District has been granted planning permission by An Bord Pleanála.

The council refused permission for the development in 2021. The development would involve the demolition of Grafton House, which was used as a temporary primary school up until June 2023.

An Bord Pleanála added some conditions to the permission including:
– It must be used as an apart-hotel – temporary accommodation only. Each stay must be no longer than 60 days.
– The developer must submit extra documents to DLR for approval before commencing development, such as drainage, road layout, construction materials to be used, construction management plan and waste management plan.
– 10% of all parking spaces must have EV charging points.

I’m sure the apart-hotel will be very useful for employers in Sandyford Business District whose employees are looking for temporary accommodation when relocating or in Dublin on short-term assignment.
