Cllr Oisín O'Connor

Green Party Councillor for Glencullen-Sandyford, including Ballinteer, Stepaside, Kilternan, Leopardstown, Ballyogan & Glenamuck

I have written to the CEO of Transport Infrastructure Ireland, to seek to suspend the upcoming closure of the Luas line from Balally to Bride’s Glen until a replacement bus service is provided.

Thousands of people rely on this service to go to work on the weekends, as well as so many other journeys. It’s not enough for us to be told that Luas tickets will be valid on existing bus services, given the lack of bus services in the areas around the Luas line, especially on weekends.

I do accept that these works are essential and when they do take place, I have asked that proper communication happen with the affected residents about the expected noise pollution.

Below the letter I have sent to them. I will provide an update once I have received a response. If you can’t see the letter below, you can view it here.
