A planning application has been submitted by “Ironborn Ltd” to DLR for 209 homes on the vacant site opposite the Sandyford pumping station, which faces onto Village Road and Thornberry Road. The application is open for public submissions until 19th September and the decision will be made on the application by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown’s planning officials.

  • All buildings 3-4 storeys, with no basements
  • All “own-door” units
  • 60 x 1-beds
  • 77 x 2-beds
  • 72 x 3-beds
  • Creche with capacity for 42 children
  • 10 hectares of public open space

There was a previous “SHD” planning application given permission here for 436 build-to-rent apartments, that was struck down by the High Court.
