The formal public consultation on the draft Dundrum Local Area Plan ended on 21st July. Here’s an update on the next steps of developing the Dundrum Local Area Plan, which is following the process as required by national legislation (the Planning Act 2000).
Public Consultation Report
In late August: a report on the public consultation will issue to the councillors. This will include a summary of all issues raised and the Planning team’s recommendation on what to do with each issue raised. What to do = whether to change the contents of the plan or add new elements to the plan.
On 14th September, the Planning team will make a presentation to councillors on that report. Councillors will have the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered.
Making Changes to the Dundrum LAP
On 5th October, the Draft Dundrum Local Area Plan and the public consultation submissions will be considered by councillors who will then decide on any amendments to the draft plan. Amendments can mean adding, removing or changing anything from the Draft Plan. If any of the changes made to the Draft Plan are deemed “Material Amendments” under the legislation there will be another public consultation of the amended Draft Plan.
The meetings on the 14th September and the 5th October will be live streamed on the council’s website and recordings will be available afterwards. All reports will also be made public on the council site for the Dundrum LAP.
