Cllr Oisín O'Connor

Green Party Councillor for Glencullen-Sandyford, including Ballinteer, Stepaside, Kilternan, Leopardstown, Ballyogan & Glenamuck

Great news that the works to upgrade the paths in Woodpark will begin next week. Thank you to the NTA for the funding under the government’s new walking & cycling budget, the Parks Dept for all the work and the Residents Committee for their positive engagement throughout.

The main path will be 3m wide and the side paths to the cul de sacs will be 2-2.5m. The existing paths are barely 1m wide so it’ll make a huge difference. Me and my family use these paths 7 days a week so personally I’m delighted we’ll be able to walk or cycle side by side finally!

After making representations from young parents and older people in the estate too, I’m happy that 3 benches will also be put in around the green including a memorial bench for the late Ber Gormley, thanks to fundraising by local residents.

I have made contact with the site foreman so any issues as construction is ongoing, please let me know.
